The Point
Ihrwelt is a very American (or poorly used if you are German) Conjugation of words.
Albeit wretched as it may seem, I have attempted to conjugate not just the two words into one,
but two worlds into one, two lives into one,
two polar opposites...
well, you get the meaning.
I beleive that one of the most profound and exemplary ideas I have ever come across is a simple
blue and white bumpersticker that combines a medley of somewhat activist characters to chorus
out the word coexist. You have probably seen it by now, it has been out for some time.
I beleive that there is no other word that sums up the maxims "Love your neighbor as yourself"
and "turn the other cheek" as well as this one does.
We have before us another overwhelming global polarization. One that has the potential of not only damaging,
but destroying civilizations. A dichotomy that may not only rival the Cold War, but make its tennets pale in comparison.
The point that we are truly missing as human beings (emphasis on being) with this new dilemna, is that we are polarizing over two religions. Two global religions that have almost opposite ideals, but claim to be from the same God. Outside of the fact that there is no- where in the bible where God says to create a religion so that everything you can do be done 'in the Name of God' according to that religion and our interpretation of it, we are forgetting about three billion people on this planet that don't have or want anything to do with either one of them.
In a sort of extreme sense the two words ihr (your, mist, spirit) and welt (world, place, cosmos) have been combined
to reflect something Jesus meant with a 'tude' he mentioned in the 'Sermon On the Mount, that being "Blessed are the peacemakers".
I may seem to have a different way of approaching some of these issues, but I have been in enough situations to know that some
if not all of these 'religions', are harboring at the least equal amounts of hatred. This ranges from the "I don't like you or anything about you' to the person who would just as soon strap a bomb to himself in the name of martyrdom and the religion that glorifies it. I have a theory that martyrdom is something that happens after a life is ended (sort of like'sainthood') which means the person being martyred never gets to bask in its 'glory'. I view martyrdom that is planned as nothing more than an extremely selfish attempt at not having to deal with a multitude of disfavors that this world has the opportunity to deck us with.
God did not intend for us to kill ourselves or anyone else with the hopes of spreading an aberrated version of His Word. And winning hearts and minds (and for God the souls of those He would have), was never accomplished or ever going to be accomplished by calling our hatreds something other than what they really are - hatred. There are those that would like to reword hatred so that it becomes more palatable or 'spiritual'. They would use phrases like 'righteous anger' and the infamous "I hate the sin but still love the sinner". The latter makes us liars as well as murderers. (If one believes in God and His Word, He or she knows that in the eyes of God hatred is the same sin as murder.) Nor are we going to be winning souls for Christ by demanding that the people that God would search out mimic our culture and grow a new vocabulary so that they can be part of our 'club'. (Culture - that is a whole other topic for another time.)
This part of my website is dedicated to the fruition of coexistense as it is defined so far in this article. And to those who have been hurt as well as those of us who have done the hurting, to the seeker as well as the 'retreater'. And to the notion that our definitions may not even be close to what Gods definitions are for sometimes large portions of what we have been taught and believe. This site is dedicated to the quest for His Truth and the "peace that surpasses all understanding"; a peace that comes with growing in and knowing His truth. A peace that comes from knowing the Father in a way that doesn't submit to the fears and hatreds that have been rekindled and promulgated as of late.
